Biography (Bosnian-American Rapper)
Bazzy is no stranger to pain and struggle. As a ten year old kid, he has seen the war first hand as it broke out in his home town of Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the spring of ’92 and unfortunately enough on his very own birthday. After much struggle, terrors of war, what can only be compared to the horrors of Anne’s Frank Diary, his family managed to escape the war leaving their home and all possessions behind. This trip was not an easy walk through the park and included much more struggle to get to safety. In 1994 Bazzy arrives in Prague, Czech republic, where he finds himself surrounded by the unknown. During this learning period he falls in love with the Hip Hop music and begins to explore this new world.
Czech Republic has provided him with new experiences but not a decent life, only that of a refugee. His parents had made a life changing decision to move to United States and so it happened in 1997 and Bazzy arrived in Atlanta, Georgia. Shortly after settling in, Bazzy finds himself lurking with other new friends in the neighborhood and school that as well loved hip hop music. It was here in the winter of ’97 that he receives his new nickname Bazzy. After freestyle rapping with few other kids from the neighborhood they decide it was time to give this new kid a name. Slapping around different ideas that could represent the meaning of “Bosnian boy” a shout from the group was heard “Bazzy”.
In 1998 Bazzy releases a short CD with only five songs that spread around the neighborhood fast. Establishing himself as a local rapper within few days, he was set to make a real album. Unfortunately finances and life didn’t allow him to devote all his time to music, but he manages to release another short CD in 2000 with eight songs. It was in 2002 when his own brother Adnan Konjic sees his brother’s love for music that he invests money into the making of a new album titled “No Way To Escape”. Making it a reality and CD was published in 2003 and began its course of distribution.
Atlanta’s local radio station 88.5FM immediately got their hands on a copy and began airing as did Bosnian Radio Station and Radio Free Europe. Within few days Bazzy started receiving interview requests from magazines and newspapers. Being caught by a surprise when he received a phone call from his brother telling him to pick up a copy of the local Atlanta Journal Constitution papers, with a scream “you are on the front page dude”, Bazzy was in shock. Within the next few days, NBC called and interview was scheduled with Wes Sarginson and it was aired live the following Monday. Exceeding his very own expectations, Bazzy was internationally featured in many magazines and newspapers gaining world-wide exposure as a new Bosnian music star.
